ASM - South Bay Chapter's
April 2007 Meeting
METAL INJECTION MOLDING
Join us this month as Larry Totzke discusses the technology of Metal Injection Molding (MIM). Sometimes referred to as Powder Injection Molding, MIM is a net-shape process for producing solid metal parts, combining the design freedom of plastic injection molding with material properties near that of wrought metals.
Larry started as a chemist in support of the melt shop of Armco Steel, Torrance CA, and has over 30 years in sales, representing castings, forgings and extruded metal components. He has worked in Oil Field, Nuclear, Aerospace, Computer/Electronic and Medical Industries. Larry is presently the Sales Manager for Hawk Precision Components, a technically advanced global manufacturer of Powder Metallurgy components that includes Metal Injection Molding (MIM). With facilities in both North America and in Suzhou China, Hawk offers advanced technologies as CNC pressing, High Velocity Compaction (HVC), advanced warm forming and die wall lubrication technologies and High Temperature Sintering.
As we did not have a meeting last month, and this will likely be our last meeting of the year, you won't want to miss this very informative talk.
Be sure to make you reservations early by emailing your request to Marc Kashinsky or calling (805)271-2242.
See you all there!
