Advances Made in Enabling Technology of Friction Stir Welding (FSW) of Advanced Aluminum Alloys

Join us this month as John Vollmer Engineer/Scientist in the M&P Department at Boeing Huntington Beach, discusses the advances made using FSW in welding alloys that have shown a history of being plagued by poor weldablity, yet have tremedous allure for large aerospace structures.

John is a member of the Metallurgy & Welding Engineering Group and has been greatly involved in Friction Stir Welding since 2002.    John is also a licensed Professional Engineer, actively involved in the American Welding Society where he was a chairman of the Aerospace Welding Committee on Fusion Welding.

This is another cutting edge technology topic, not to be missed.  Reservations can be made by calling Marc Kashinsky at (805)271-2242 or via e-mail . We'll be looking forward to seeing you there.

Please continue to note the new day for our meetings, which has been permanently changed to the 4th Thursday of each month.
