Corrosion Testing of Brazed Space Station IATCS Materials

Increased nickel concentrations in the Internal Active Thermal Control System (IATCS) coolant prompted a study of the corrosion rates of nickel-brazed heat exchangers in the entire system

Come join Matt Pohlman as he discusses the causes and problems with this increase nickel concentrations and its effect on other systems in the International Space Station.

Matt Pohlman who holds a BS in Metallurgical Engineering from Purdue University, and an MS in Materials Science from UCLA has over 25 years experience with Honeywell Corporation in the environmental control business with emphasis on materials and processes for heat transfer products and metallurgy of high temperature alloys.  He is an instructor of introductory metallurgy at Cerritos College in Los Angeles area, and holds several brazing related patents.

This is sure to be an interesting topic.  For reservations please call (805)271-2242 or e-mail your request to reservations. We'll be looking forward to seeing you there.
