ASM International Orange Coast Chapter |
If industry isn't enough, our
West is framed by the Pacific Ocean having Huntington Beach which is touted as
the best surf spot for is consistancy of good waves and "The Wedge" for the
adrenalin rush of of its high thrilles and danger. To the East is the
Coastal Range Mountains which provide hiking and mountainbike trails from there
to the coast. And, in between is the birthplace of Mickey Mouse at
Disneyland and the cool shade of palm trees.
The Oldest Industrial Complex is the Smelting and Candle making pits of the Native Indians with the Spanish Missionaries at San Juan Capistrano Mission. ASM International has recognised its postion in materials history by dedicating a plaque in 1975. The mission was in production of forged iron works for weapons and construction in 1776 as well as candle making and wine making. Besides having a rich history with past US President visits it is the most painted adobe structure with its mesmerizing arches splashed by brilliant color of the garden's wild flowers.
We are looking forward to meeting some new faces at the technical meetings.
