Arvind Midha, Regional Metallurgy Specialist at Carpenter Technology Corp.

 Arvind Mindha will discuss recent alloys developed at Carpenter Alloys Corp. These alloys include Custom 465, a high strength stainless steel, which has multiple applications in the aerospace and medical fields, ACUBE 100, an alloy developed as an alternative to CuBe, and time permitting will discuss about Talon 290, a high strength steel without Cobalt additions.  

Speaker Bio:
Arvind Mindha has a B.A.Sc degree in Metallurgical Engineering from the University of British Columbia. Arvind obtained a Professional Engineer License in Mechanical Engineering from the State of CA, and a Professional Engineer License in Metallurgical Engineering from the Province of British Columbia.

After graduating in 1981 he worked as a Works Metallurgist at STELCO (The Steel Company of Canada), and in 1986 he became Manager of Metallurgy & Quality Assurance at Western Canada Steel. By 1989 he became Director of Technology and Chief Metallurgist for Seattle Steel, and later in 1991 he started working in Failure Analysis – Rail Vehicle Engineering for MTA. Three years later Arvind became Quality Assurance Manager for Connor Formed Metal Products. Since 1996 he has worked in Carpenter Technology as a Regional Metallurgy Specialist.
