ASM Education Courses
Fall 2009

The fall courses will start Tuesday evening, September 15, 2009.
The courses are:
        Metallurgy for the Non-Metallurgist …..Dr. Michael T. Hahn, Northrop Grumman
        Aluminum and its Alloys………………………Dr. Michael J. O’Brien, Aerospace Corporation
        How to Organize and Run a failure Analysis………Dr. Daniel Dennies, The Boeing Company
The first sessions for all three courses will be at the Sempra Utility Company’s Energy Resource Center at 9400 Firestone Blvd in Downey. Subsequent classes will be held at locations chosen by the students.

The courses cover 15 lessons. Frequently, the students ask for 2 lessons per session in order to complete their course in 8 weeks…before the holidays.

The courses are all Certified by the International Association for Continuing Education and Training.
The courses come from ASM headquarters and include i) a huge notebook full of good metallurgical information, ii) a year free membership in ASM and iii) coffee.

The cost is $1898 in Cleveland. Travel and per diem expenses must be added. The cost for each course in Los Angeles is $1575. Good deal.  Bring a company invoice.
