THE LOS ANGELES CHAPTER OF ASM INTERNATIONAL
ANNOUNCES
CONTINUING EDUCATION CLASSES
The Los Angeles Chapter offers the following courses beginning in January 2009:
• Metallurgy for the
Non-Metallurgist
• Aluminum and its Alloys
• Titanium and its Alloys
• Introduction to Heat Treating
The courses are official Continuing Education Courses recognized by ISO. Each carries 3.2 CEU Credits.
The teachers are outstanding experts in their fields.
Classes start Wednesday evening, about 6:00, January 7, 2009, at the Gas Company Energy Resource Center, 9400 Firestone Boulevard, Downey. At that time, the class will decide on continuing times / places. Class members frequently prefer two-hour sessions (with a break) so that the course can be completed in only 8 weeks.
Tuition for the 15-session course is $1565. This is the same as for exactly the same course held at ASM Metals Park in Cleveland. Of course, the costs of travel, meals, lodging and lost time from work are eliminated by taking the course locally. The tuition includes a big notebook full of technical information and data. The tuition also includes the fee for a one-year membership in ASM International. In addition, a $100 discount is available if you sign up by December 22.
The course is completed when the final examination is completed ON LINE. Upon completion, ASM International Headquarters in Cleveland issues the official Certification of Completion for the course.
The local contact is Dr. John R. Ogren
at Loyola Marymount University.
